Just to add to what Troy said and answer a couple of your other questions:

None; the help wanted page wasn't actually cleared with anyone.  We 
don't need graphic artists or writers.  Those pages are now removed.

You might be interested in helping with the new web interface we're 
developing.  (See http://www.crosswire.org/sword/biblenew/index.jsp .)
It uses Sword via CORBA & JSP and is intended to be valid XHTML 1.1 
(eventually).

The SOAP interfaces are no longer in development.
