Hi David,

The purpose of Ichthux has to be both for sure. It has to be something like a
ministry because we are christians and everything we do should be inspired by
prayer, and it has to be a distribution geared towards christians in the fact
because this is the technical way we chose. We are not very numerous (yet at
least) and thus it is unthinkable to think about developping a whole distro.
It would be a loss of time to work on thousands of packages. Making it a CDD
allows us to focus on our goal, but to make it so we need to follow Debian
rules, since CDDs are within Debian.
When a community builds a Church, they surely do it for the glory of God, they
surely choose to make it a building because that's the most adapted technical
option, and they surely have to respect the laws and the rules of the city in
which they settle. It's just the same here. All three facts are not
exclusive, they are complementary as for anything Christians do within the
society.
Making a new kind of licence not compatible with Debian would just cut us from
Debian and prevent us from building on it properly. Maybe that is what we
might do later on, but I don't feel this would help at all now.
