I had a look at their prices:

-A printed revised Luther 1984 bible with the text on disk does cost 49 DM
($25).

All other texts are selled with an digitalized text for their modular bible
system.
You can buy a program with more featuures than the simple programs included
witht the CD you buy: Quattro Pro. Quattro Pro does cost ~198 DM ($100).

Now I know why they disagree to give out the texts for Windows. Since Quattro
pro is very expensive in comparision to SWORD they simply wnt to make money.

They sell a second program called "Bible Works" for 550 DM (~ $250). Sure,
it's better than BibleTime but includes only some texts etc.
I think that they are worried about programs like BibleTime for Windows :)
I'll not tell them that BibleTime will be ported some day to Windows. This is
for later :)

And what I really dislike is that the DBG sells the pure ASCII texts for 80
DM (twice as the printed book plus text on CD). This is earning money not
spreading Gods word.
But let's see if we find a good solution.

IMHO a Linux-Only solution isn't worth the effort. Sword modules are avalable
for all platforms, and monopols are never good.

I'm wondering if we simply can't buy such a CD or ASCII text and implement
support in SWORD for it or offer something like a converting CGI script on the
web (Upload the module and get it back converted via eMail).

Does somebody know if this is possible and legal?
