I was making a gnomesword package of the old version that i may in the
future end up NMU'ing in debian so that a working gnomesword will be in
the next debian release if the current maintainer doesn't get around to
fixing...

I experienced the same bug; I hang out with galeon upstream alot (i'm
the galeon debian maintainer) and the galeon author was kind enough to
patch main.c with a fix....

but i don't have it anymore :-(

Once he wakes up, i'll ask him to send me the patched main.c again.  If
he deleted it, it may be trivial for him to patch it again ;)
