[sword-devel] New Sword Website?

Jonathan ,

I would like to help with this project too. I don't know who (if anyone) is
still working on it.

Here are my thoughts (if I am allowed to help with the project.)

First I would separate structure from presentation as much as possible. All
the content should use basic structural HTML tags like
<h1><p><div><ul><li><blockquote> etc. The style, color, and all involved
with presentation would then be left to CSS.

There are a number of advantages to this. The main thing is that when
different people need to add to or edit an existing page, they will not have
to worry about having to integrate a look and feel. that will all be done in
the CSS. subsequent changes could be made to the look by simply editing the
*.css.

I would also recommend that the heading, navigation and footer from each
page use SSI. (I'm assuming crosswire.org is running Apache) this will give
even greater control over the consistency of the site without having to rely
on frames.

Using CSS and SSI will also help in making the maintenance of the site a
more collaborative effort. No one will need to do the whole thing.

these are just my thoughts, whatever they are worth. I'd be glad to help
pull this together.

Hey Everyone,

I know that we have been talking about designing a new Sword Project
website, how is that going, who is still working on that? What still needs
to
be done, what is the general status of that project. I would be more than
willing to help organize the efforts and push this project so we can start
seeing a new Sword Project website. What are people's thoughts?
