COuld pull in same way as images (if browsers were built better, you 
could even pull in XML inline that way....)

Interesting point -- I'm not sure if we discussed this at all -- thoughts, all?

One thing high on my list is a simple schema for mapping ranges in 
audio to verse references.

By scripting languages, do you mean a basic set of event hooks 
something like in HTML?
