[mobile-devel] future ideas for And-Bible

Hi Guan,

Thank you very much for offering. I have no knowledge of Chinese nor
understanding of the language structure.

JSword uses the Smartcn
<http://lucene.apache.org/java/2_9_1/api/contrib-smartcn/org/apache/lucene/analysis/cn/smart/package-summary.html>analyzer
but it used too much memory for mobiles.

My initial thought was to try to

   - use one of the other 2 analyzers in the smartcn
   <http://lucene.apache.org/java/2_9_1/api/contrib-smartcn/org/apache/lucene/analysis/cn/smart/package-summary.html>
   jar
   - remove the massive Chinese dictionary from smartcn.jar because it would
make users uninstall And Bible because of it's size

Recently a user has come up with some other analyzers linked to from this
issue <http://code.google.com/p/and-bible/issues/detail?id=34&can=1> but all
the documentation is in Chinese.

It would be great if initially you could compare and recommend a suitable
analyzer bearing in mind

   - the low memory requirements and processing power of mobiles
   - small jars are better

If you were then able to trial and test the analyzer that would be even
better but what ever you are happy and able to do will be a huge help.

I didn't know the send message function wasn't working. Is it working for
anybody else? I must confess I never use it.

Please stay in touch and tell us thoughts.

Many thanks
Martin
