One of the reasons is for bible software testing. In addition, I am 
using Xubuntu 8.10-Intrepid for the XO (One Laptop per Child) machine, 
and the XO team did not release Xubuntu 9.04-Jaunty yet.

I did not switch from Hardy to Intrepid, as someone told me, that there 
were to many problems with it and that it would be better to stay with 
the previous one.
In addition, some of the latest laptops released with Ubuntu (I think 
that this was the Dell machine) still have Ubuntu Hardy installed ....
