Summary: Restarting distribution with BT on: BT crashes (098)

Initial Comment:
When you exit Suse with BT still active, starting Suse
again gives a crash-arrow message
- Still in BT 1.5.1: I did not check correctly, it is
not yet working. Sorry.
- BT 1.2 does not crash any more in Suse 10. Great. Done
- BT 1.3 in Ubuntu 5.10: starts now several times (this
morning 4 times), when exiting with BT open
- Same with BT 1.6.beta1 in Ubuntu 5.10.

After fixing the session management I cannot reproduce a crash anymore.

Note for testers: I temporarily renamed the original BibleTime binary and
created a link from /usr/bin/bibletime to /usr/local/bin/bibletime which is
my development version. Thereby I can use it with session management.

I can confirm the crash with 1.6.4 and Kubuntu Gutsy, but only with
certain circumstances. I don't know yet what those circumstances are.

Additionally the multiple window problem seems to be back though it was
fixed before 1.6.4.

Hi Martin,

Steps are simple:
Exit your Linux distribution without closing BT. When restarting it, BT
shows up twice (without any work loaded). If you try to open any work
(regardless in which of the two), BT crashes.
This still happens in Ubuntu 6.10.

Wolfgang, can you please check if this is in 1.6.1 still? If so, please
give me the exact
steps to reproduce the error. Thanks, mg

Joachim, I don't know how KDE's session management works. Is there a way
to disable this for BibleTime?

Another info concerning this problem:
Same situation: When I shut down in desktop 2 and restart
it, I get several (or even only) one copy of BT open in
desktop 2 (without the session loaded).
In those copies of BT in desktop 2 it is possible to open
works in one of them and then close the other open copies of
the program (in desktop 2 and also in 1).
Now I can start a second copy of BT in desktop 1 and those
two copies (in desktop 1 and 2) work both independent of
each other.

Checked it again today and add the following (perhaps this
gives a hint, where the problem could be):
I am usually working with 2 desktops in Linux, and I am
starting BT in desktop one.
Now when I have BT on and restart Ubuntu while being in
- desktop 1: BT comes up with 3 copies in desktop 1, none
in desktop 2
- desktop 2: BT comes up with 3 copies in desktop2, one in
desktop 1
In both cases, no sessions are loaded in the multiple
versions of BT
