Display templates is a new feature which was added after 1.4.1, CVS is for 
development and not really meant to use it daily for Bible study.
We will add more display templates later.  We will offer a choice of good 
templates so color choosing will not be necessary any more.

The issue you ran into is known to the Sword team. BT CVS works with Sword 
1.5.7 at the moment, so CVS is not working right now.
