I'm noticing a few other things also and I think it is possible linked to my 
patchwork of an os on my testing machine. Really it's mandrake 9.0 with allot 
of nonstandard rpm's bolted on so I think it is my own box. 

One thing I have noticed for sure is that for some reason the only icon that 
shown up on the toolbar is the print icon if I goto the settings and add 
others it simply ignors it and when I try to shut bibleime down it segfaults. 
As soon as I run bibletime again all is ok but the only icon showing again is 
the print icon. To fix this I completely removed .kde directory to make sure 
some old config files were not to blame then I rebooted the system and let 
kde redoo the whole directory but this still did not fix the issue.
