Hi TIm!

Please ask all question you have! I want to help you to get involved so I
have to do less things later :)

As you know we're preparing version 1.0.
Could you help us to find and fix bugs until version 1.0.
Version 1.0 will be released at the end of this month.

After 1.0 new features like ThML support (probably) and other things will be
added.
If you have ideas for new features or improvements please send them on this
list!

In the end of 1998 I installed Linux on my Computer to throw away Windows :)
My older brother installed Linux, too. He ever wanted a Bible study program
for Linux which fullfills his needs and reuqirements.
On Windows I was doing some pretty basic stuff in Pascal and Delphi. Because
there was no Delphi on Linux I decided to learn C++. A Bible study tool was a
good start and I started doing some prototypes. At this time I was a really
bad programmer :)
I started also to learn KDE and Qt at this, so I posted a message to the KDE
development mailing list and wrote there I want to start working on a Linux
Bible study tool. Two other programmers (Torsten Uhlmann and Thomas Hagedorn)
responded to this eMail and they helped me very much to turninto a better
programmer.

The time we started working on BibleTime was at the beginning of June 1999.
Some months later (1999-08-27) we released version 0.1 which was pretty basic.
On the first january of 2000 we released version 0.2 which was much useable
and helpful with your Bible study.

We were getting positive feedback and decided to continue to start working on
a KDE2 port called version 0.3.
Torsten left the team around this time because he had not enough time. Now I
got the sole project manager, developer, webpage designer, documentation
author :)
0.3 was released 2000-07.
Around this time Martin send me an eMail and suggested some things. Now we
are really good friends (I have to admitt he's my best friend).
At the end of last year God has shown me I was totally wrong with my live and
I was convinced (with the help of Martin :) that he's the sole way to my
salvation so I took him as my Lord and saviour. I have to learn much things
but I'm on the best way.

The time after 0.3 was filled by the development for version 1.0 which will
be released this month.

We do have to connections to Wycliffe, also we know some of them.

The resume is rather long, but I hope it's interesting for you and you know
now what the background of BibleTime is.

God bless you!
Joachim
