Well, I discovered that if I set my resolution to 100 dpi that the fonts
clear up.  However, I have been unable to stumble upon how to tell KDM to
start X at 100 dpi.  I have made the changes for xdm, but these are
obviously not used, and I have been unable to find the secret for kdm so
far.
