I don't know much about grabbing KDE by CVS, as I have a proxy that only
points at crosswire.org.

The KDE snapshots are available from various FTP sites including
ftp.kde.org.  Via the web you can find the files at:
http://www.cee.odu.edu/kde

(click on snapshots then current).
 
All you need to get enough KDE to compile BT is kde-qt-addon and kdelibs
