Robert Hunt added a comment -

SVN r416 (22May2013) apparently fixed a bug to do with \periph which I actually considered to be a peripheral issue (pun intended). It didn't seem to do anything to fix what I consider to be the main problem: a small internal USFM processing fault causes usfm2osis.py to remain in an infinite loop and I have to manually halt it. (So I guess now I'll have to try to track down and document the next small USFM issue that is still causing an infinite loop.)
