  • Volunteer Quick Start

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for The SWORD Project. Here you will find all the information that you will need to know about being a volunteer. Please read this carefully.

To become a volunteer all you need to do is be able to meet the following requirements:

    • Have an internet connection and an e-mail address- The SWORD Project volunteers communicate almost exclusively through e-mail and all of The SWORD Project's software is stored and distributed from crosswire.org.
    • Have a substantial commitment of time to volunteer to the project- We understand people are busy with other things in their lives and it is only when those responsibilities are fulfilled can they volunteer. This is the way it should be! But please take a moment before you decide to volunteer to see if you will have enough time, after all other responsibilities, to be able to commitment to a task for The SWORD Project. The number one thing that grinds a good idea to a halt is someone saying they are able to volunteer and then not having the time to finish the task.
    • Have a good attitude- Well this is needless to say but also in this I would like to encourage volunteers to get to know other volunteers on The SWORD Project, from this we will be able to communicate and work together better. I think that sometimes we lose sight that this is a Christian project, so at the very least we should strive to have good relationships with the other volunteers. Show an interest in someone elses work, ask them about it, talk to them about their life, etc. But remember to use personal e-mail to do this in, do not use the mailing list for this purposes.
