When you try to run a program on Linux, and the terminal reports "error
while loading shared libraries"
that means that the program needs a library that's not installed (or it's
installed, but found in some odd place).

Here's what I do to find the exact library that's missing:
I installed the program apt-file. I then load apt-file with information by
typing:
   sudo apt-file update
That makes apt-file grab package information (just like apt update) does.
Then, I ask apt-file for the information:
   sudo apt-file find libbiblesync.so.1.1
and apt-file will look through ALL of the packages available for any
package that has libbiblesync.so.1.1 in it.
   sudo apt-file find libbiblesync.so.1.1
returns
   libbiblesync1.1: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libbiblesync.so.1.1

SO... that means you need to install the package "libbiblesync1.1":
   sudo apt install libbiblesync1.1*

And THAT should install the missing library, and let xiphos run.
