Nic,

I too don't know much about video editing. So your's is about as good as my attempt. I like it in that it is quick and easy, though it is the entire screen and thus too big. Your idea to change screen resolution is excellent. I've used a utility to rotate the screen (Display Rotation Menu by Mage Software), which might help, but haven't tried it with a different resolution or with video capture.

You can also add voice. On the record window, there is a triangle on the right that will allow you to select the audio input.
