I'm quite sure that within couple of years the most common display
size to be sold will be full HD (or 1920x1200). The current netbooks
have 1024x600 and they are quite popular already. The resolution is
not all in all, the pixel size and distance to eye define the
preferred font size in pixels. With 17" full HD widescreen the font
must be scaled up to be readable, but 24" size is common nowadays. But
then again, 24" may be watched from different distance than 17".

This is so complicated that the only solution seems to be to test with
all available resolutions/screen sizes and make sure they all are
readable. The abovementioned browsershots looks good but it doesn't  
have full HD. And it doesn't scale the fonts.
