I'm not sure whether you were looking for examples of the language code
cases and or the language usages, so I'll give both.

Codes:

(English)
<language type="ISO-639-1">en</language>
<language type="ISO-639-2-T">eng</language>
<language type="ISO-639-2-B">eng</language>
<language type="SIL">ENG</language>
<language type="IETF">en</language>

(Albanian)
<language type="ISO-639-1">sq</language>
<language type="ISO-639-2-T">sqi</language>
<language type="ISO-639-2-B">alb</language>
<language type="SIL">ALS</language>
<language type="IETF">sq</language>

(Klingon)
<language type="LINGUIST">CKLN</language>
<language type="IANA">i-klingon</language>
<language type="IETF">i-klingon</language>

Uses:

A Greek grammar for English speakers:
<language type="IETF" use="didactic">grc</language>
<language type="IETF">en</language>

A Greek NT with English interlinear glosses:
<language type="IETF">grc</language>
<language type="IETF" use="interlinear">en</language>

A Greek/English dictionary of the NT:
<language type="IETF" use="source">grc</language>
<language type="IETF" use="target">en</language>

A Bible translated from Greek & Hebrew to English:
<language type="IETF" use="original">he</language>
<language type="IETF" use="original">grc</language>
<language type="IETF" use="translation">en</language>

An English commentary on the NT that quotes segments of the NT in Greek:
<language type="IETF" use="quotation">grc</language>
<language type="IETF">en</language>

----

This set raises the issue of whether all of the elements with no "use"
value should really have no "use" value or whether we should add another
value such as "base".

Comments?
