Generally speaking any punctuation that is predictable for rendering 
should be omitted. Once the stylesheet is written, for a bibliographic 
entry for example, it is done and it reduces the amount of correct 
typing for entry. Not to mention that you can switch styles if it is all 
set from the stylesheet.
