The crash is more intermittent for me today and is still only seen in 
release code, but I see one clue. Starting with no books installed, I 
installed a bible and the crash occurred. The bible icon had appeared in 
the bookshelf dock window. So, it seems the crash may be in the new 
bookshelf code rather than in the install thread.

Also, I see funny behavior in the bookshelf dock window. When I install 
a module it frequently appears under the wrong category. If I then quit 
an restart it is moved to the right category.
