Message:
I just grabbed Linux Mint 8rc1 and installed it here, in a virtual machine,
for testing. All I had to do to install BibleTime 2.0-1 was to open a
terminal window and do

  sudo apt-get install bibletime -y

and type my password when asked.

If you need BibleTime 2.4-1, it takes a couple more commands to add our
PPA and then upgrade:

  echo "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/pkgcrosswire/ppa/ubuntu karmic main"
|sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pkgcrosswire.list
  sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade -y

It worked for me on Mint 8rc1, at least. Does this kind of approach not
work for you? Do please join the BibleTime folks on IRC if you can, in the
#bibletime channel on irc.freenode.net. We can help you further there, if
you need more support. You can use use http://webchat.freenode.net if you
have no IRC chat program available to you.

Message:
I am the primary Debian and Ubuntu packager of BibleTime. 2.0-1 is in the
Ubuntu Karmic repositories right now. Version 2.4-1 just arrived in our
packaging team PPA at https://launchpad.net/~pkgcrosswire/+archive/ppa for
Ubuntu Hardy, Intrepid, Jaunty, karmic and Lucid, and is also in Debian
unstable (sid).

I have not done anything special for Mint -- do I need to? Please state
which version of BibleTime you are trying to install, on which version of
Mint, so I can help you further with this. With that information, I can
set up a Mint OS installation here to test with.

Thanks,

Jonathan
