I just noticed the Qt release announcement for an RC. It happens to be a
quite good example of what I mean by RC.

If an RC isn't published and distributed to end users it's quite
meaningless. If we feel we can't follow this rule of thumb it could be
better to release only betas and the final. We have also to remember
that every project is different and we are a smaller one than, say, Qt
or KDE. Maybe we don't really have need for a complicated release
shceme, or have to adjust it.
