I just noticed that we have a similar situation here:
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1877897&group_id=954&atid=100954

Is it possible that this is the case with your system? What is the clucene
version?

Do you mean that in the terminal window the WARNING comes first before you
start any search related task, then after clicking yes it prints "illegal
instruction" and crashes?

That warning should not be related and the same version works in Kubuntu,
so I suspect it's a platform specific thing. "Illegal instruction" also
hints to that way. One reason might be that BibleTime 1.6.5.1 is not tested
with Sword library version 1.5.11. Could you contact the FreeBSD package
maintainer and ask if he can help or at least give some opinion? Or are you
yourself able to compile from source?

At least you could tell the exact configuration - what modules do you try
to search in? What version numbers they have? Have you updated them lately
or just installed? Did you previously have indexes for them? Does deleting
the existing indexes from ~/.kde/share/apps/bibletime/indices/ help?
