Ladies and gentlemen,

I wish to extend greetings to the new project members. You are very welcome,
and I pray that the Lord would put into your heart a serious commitment to
this project, because we really depend upon new people who join and are
willing to help out with the development tasks that already exist as well as
imparting new ideas and proposals. So again, feel welcomed, and I hope that you
will _really_ become involved.

Since I am not yet subscribed to this list again, I am not sure how the
current development status is, but judging from our sf tasklist I guess that we
still have a long way to go towards the next release. A new subproject that we
will have to finish before the next release is the BibleTime SetupWizard, a
tool to manage the sword modules that are installed on the user's system. The
difficult module installation is currently one of the main weak points of
BibleTime for many users, and the SetupWizard will change this. The basic
functions will be

-install new or update existion modules
 a) from the net
 b) from a local path
-remove modules

and later (if somebody wants to, we can do this now already):
-import a foreign text to a new sword module
-export a sword module

I uploaded a first draft which can serve as a discussion basis for the
developers to
http://sword.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/twiki/view/Bibletime/SetupWizard. Please discuss the SetupWizard ON THIS PAGE, NOT HERE. This may require
you to register with the sword Wiki and to get aquainted with the way the wiki
works, but I promise you it is worth the effort.

In a first phase, please submit all your ideas/proposals/corrections there.
Also, whoever wants to get involved in this subproject, please put your name
in the volunteers section and state what you would like to do. I hope that
somebody will. If we get several people and work together well, this should be
a quick thing.
Something that will not need to be discussed is the need for graphic/design
work as described on the page. Would somebody like to help with that (maybe
Timothy)? Please state so on the page, and you can immediately start working.
Email any draft/beta versions of icons/images to me and Joachim, or upload
them to the wiki page, whichever you want.

I would like to emphasize the importance of this subproject. The
difficulties in installation/maintenance are atm keeping many users from using BibleTime
and Linux at all. Therefore, this should be a step into a more user-friendly
direction. Please think and pray about getting involved in this. If you
cannot, please continue to pray for this and the BibleTime project as whole.

Thanks for your attention. Blessings,

Martin
