Now (after installing bibletime-doc) I still don't have the tips. But I
have (not caused by that install) tons of warnings. An excerpt:

At startup:
(BibleTime 1.1beta1) WARNING: Can't load startuplogo! Check your
installation.
(BibleTime 1.1beta1) WARNING: Parsing error
(BibleTime 1.1beta1) WARNING: can't find window menu
(BibleTime 1.1beta1) WARNING: ASSERT: "i <= nodes" in
/usr/include/qt/qvaluelist.h (284)
(BibleTime 1.1beta1) WARNING: CBiblePresenter::CBiblePresenter
(BibleTime 1.1beta1) WARNING: ASSERT: "m_charsetMap" in qrichtext.cpp
(1251)
(BibleTime 1.1beta1) WARNING: CBiblePresenter::initAccels()
(BibleTime 1.1beta1) WARNING: CREATE NEW PRESENTER: (null)
(BibleTime 1.1beta1) WARNING: CBibleKeyChooser::setKey(CKey* key)

(BibleTime 1.1beta1) WARNING: QGList::locate: Index 135844640 out of
range
(which appears many times)
(BibleTime 1.1beta1) WARNING: void CHTMLWidget::ToolTip::maybeTip(const
QPoint& p)
(which also appears many times)

Maybe someone can do something with it.
