We actually were planning a real installmgr replacement that will allow users
to automatically download, install and manage modules from crosswire, cd or
whatever. I added this as a task to 1.1 on sourceforge, but it may be too
big. Kde2 has very useful classes that will take lots of the work. Joachim
knows much more about these issues than me.

Switching to an install dialog for module management could be better than
using rpm based module management because it is more flexible and intuitive.
And rpms do not work on all systems (e.g. debian). So maybe we should
completely drop rpm based module management in future?

Should we implement dialog based module management in bibletime or should we
create a separate application? I thought it would blow up bibletime too much,
and you don't need to change your installed modules very often.

But in this place we must be aware that we might be duplicating work that is
already done in the (gtk-based) installmgr of sword, which is in sword cvs.
Did you already try this one? Since it also runs in windows, it may be wise
to continue developing this app so that a wider range of users could profit
from it. I'm sure Troy would be happy if we took over the development of this
app.
