> But I'll think about this if it's accessible in configure. In configure you could test for /opt, but on some system there is an opt. E.g. on mine, I simply symlinked this to /usr. On redhat systems your always have a file "/etc/redhat-release", this file has been there since 4.2. So this file is a good indication that one should use /usr instead of /opt. :-)
