I have a brand new macbook 2.54Ghz, 4GB ram, etc ... I'm new to macs and therefore to mac software ... I'm not new to the Sword project and the windows software found here ... I downloaded and installed macsword and it is essentially unusable .... it takes over 6 minutes for it to just start ... it takes nearly as long just to switch books in the bible. All other software works and behaves well. The installation was very simple. I do not see any posts in the forum complaining about performance. What did I do wrong? Why is it so slooooow? UPDATE: this seems to happen when I have a bible and MHC open at the same time. With just a bible open it performs "normally" ... ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by bgault at Apr 6, 2010 6:47:37 PM] |

Hi. MHC is a huge module. The only advice I can give you here is to minimise the verse range you open. MacSword 2.2 does quite some optimisations both in speed and memory usage but you still would need to shorten your verse range. Manfred |
