Module file format is open standard?

I don't know if my subject title for this post is the correct terminology or not. I am wanting to know if modules that I create in MacSword are proprietary or not? I don't want to get a year or more into making some and find that my work is locked into something that I can't extract if the SWORD, God forbid, goes out of development.

Re: Module file format is open standard?

Well, our internal module format is open in that the source codes are freely accessible.
Normally the source format you use to create a module is one of OSIS, THML or the like which are open standards. You can look them up at Wikipedia.
If you are talking about a commentary module created in MacSword then this module will work on any other SWORD software and is build using our internal module format.
