Hello, I'm trying to create a module. It is a modern hebrew bible with punctutation. It is in UTF-8. I had it as vpl, then I tried to vpl2mod, but it didn't work for some reason. Then I created a Java program to convert it to ThML. Then I tried xml2gbs and thml23gbs. They both made some files (.bdt, .dat, .idx). Then I tried to Install it with Install Manger, but it didn't find anything. I also tried to copy the contents to the "right" folder according to the .conf file. I have this conf file in the mods.d folder. And I have the SWORD_PATH correctly set. It ended up in the sword as an empty module. If you know whats wrong, I'd like to know it too. Thanks, Shmuel |

Hi Shmuel, I found that vpl2mod worked for me when there was one verse on one line, and every line was was preceded with the verse designation, like this: Gen 1:1 In the beginning... Gen 1:2 I found by trial and error that I had to add 1 as a parameter after the output path to the final module for this to work alright. Hope this helps. Piotr |

Yes, it worked. Thank you. Still what doesn't work is this ThML -> GBS -> Module conversion (xml2gbs or thml2gbs). Do have any experience on that ? Shmuel. |

Shmuel. xml2gbs and thml2gbs create GenBook modules (which are a different driver and show up in a different window from Bible modules). They are not related to GBF (which I suspect you might be thinking of here). If you download one of the GenBook modules (e.g. Josephus) and copy some of the fields (e.g. the driver name) from its .conf file to your Bible's .conf file, you'll find that your .bdt, .dat, & .idx files will work. |

But how do I really convert a thml bible text to a module? Use vpl2mod. Run it once without arguments to see the usage. Don't use ThML because there is no defined format for Bibles in ThML, and we have no way of predicting how you or others would interpret that spec. |
