Hello, I use the Aurox Linux distro www.aurox.org , based on Red Hat, with KDE 3.x I succeeded in compiling Sword from source, but not so with BibleTime. During make I saw many warnings about comparison of signed and unsigned integer values, like this: /usr/include/sword/swbuf.h: In member function `void and at the end of make /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lart_lgpl_2 I retranslated 'exiting directory' from Polish because some messages displayed during make were in Polish. Is there an error log that make writes when it runs? If so, where? I thought that I could send you this log so that you could possibly troubleshoot this problem. I will appreciate your help. Regards, Piotr |

Hi, the error which is the reason is: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lart_lgpl_2 So you're missing the library libart_lgpl_2.so on your system. Please install that lib and try again. Maybe Google helps here if there are similair problem siwth aurox and KDE programs. Joachim |

Hello, Thanks for the tip. I found that actually I need the devel version of this library. I wasn't able to find one for Aurox, but the one from PLD (another Polish distro) worked. Incidentally, Bibletime write such warnings to the console: (BibleTime 1.4.1) WARNING: getModuleList called: 2 buttons (BibleTime 1.4.1) WARNING: append module PNS (BibleTime 1.4.1) WARNING: getModuleList called: 3 buttons (BibleTime 1.4.1) WARNING: append module PNS (BibleTime 1.4.1) WARNING: append module PBG (BibleTime 1.4.1) WARNING: getModuleList called: 2 buttons (BibleTime 1.4.1) WARNING: append module PNS Is there something wrong with the installation? Other than that it appears that the program works alright and accepted the modules I copied from the Windows installation of the Sword Project. Regards, Piotr |

I too am installing on Red Hat 9. Sword installs fine. After I run the configuration for the Bible Time source code, when I try to do MAKE, I get an error saying it cannot find the makefile, but I am running make in the directory the file is expanded too, and I see the makefile. |
