confused making mod with deuterocanonicals
Can I make a module with also deuterocanonical books
(having the texts of course :-) ?

Diverse versifications, including deuterocanonicals, will be supported later. As far as I know, much of the work has been done for the engine but it's not ready yet. Could you join the sword-devel mailing list and ask there?

Hi Osk, DFH sent me today mail, that deuterocanonical books will be supported in new version. We are now preparing Slovak bible with deuterocanonical books. If you allready have a closer specification of the input data, can you help us please, how to include that books correctly into the sword module. Thank you.

Best thing is you simply start making an OSIS text with all books included.

Once the engine support is finalised we will import your text and make it available to the front ends.

There will likely be a bit of a lag until all fronends can make full use of modules with deuterocanonicals, but we hope everything will catch up finally.

There is a very easy way to do it.

If you will have any problems using the tool in Windows, I can compile module for you using my Ubuntu Linux.

We are still working on adding support for different versifications and for deuterocanonical books. It would be best to create books using the OSIS XML format (see http://www.bibletechnologies.net/ and http://www.crosswire.org/wiki/OSIS_Bibles). A list of OSIS book abbreviations may be found at http://www.crosswire.org/wiki/OSIS_Book_Abbreviations.

With an OSIS version of your text, you will be able to use osis2mod to convert it to Sword format.

If your Bible is fairly simple (no footnotes, cross references, headings, etc.) then you can use the IMP format instead. A brief description of IMP can be found here: http://www.crosswire.org/wiki/File_Formats#IMP

With an IMP file, you can use imp2vs to convert to Sword format.

I can't recommend using VPL format since vpl2mod is not really supported any more. You can achieve the same results and more by using imp2vs, so we won't be updating vpl2mod to support deuterocanonical books or different versifications.

Can be used with tool imp2vs booknames from osis? Can be used short or full booknames? (http://www.crosswire.org/wiki/OSIS_Book_Abbreviations)

You can make a module for deuterocanocicals insofar as the -v11n flag works.

Most likely you'll need to compile from source. As none of the pre-compile versions support the flag.

Soon, you should be able to use osis2mod.

Right now only one ('vul') is supported. Soon, others will be.

Until then. the best suggestion is to write your module as OSIS using OSIS standard names as given in the osis manual.

Keep trying until your versification is supported. Or join sword-devel and post your need there.

Soon, you should be able to use osis2mod.


I mean that I have not checked it in yet and will soon. Imp2mod already has been check in and supports 'Vul'.
