First, I'd like to say how grateful I am for QPSword and all those who have contributed to it. I use this software everyday, and on more than one occasion it has helped me to share my love for the Word to young people who were first attracted by the PDA and where then amazed at how much was packed inside. I would like to know if there are any plans to update QPSword to be able to use the new features (red letters on/off) and formatting of the KJV that was recently updated. I tried to install it only to lose the Strongs numbers and some chapters (ex. John Chapter 1), and I didn't gain the red letters I was hoping for. In Faith, Mark |

I have just installed QPSword on a Zaurus 5600 and have exactly the same problem - can't get Strongs display Strongs numbers and have missing verses. Did you ever find a solution to your problem? If not, do you know of another version of the KJV that will work with QPSword and show Strongs numbers? |

Derek, The only version of KJV that works with qpsword is the one that you can find on http://www.crosswire.org/feeds/arm/zaurusold/ called sword-kjv-w-strongs_1.4.1_noarch.ipk. In Faith, Mark ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by markd at May 25, 2004 9:53:09 AM] |

Mark, Many thanks for this. Can you please tell me the exact version/download file of QPSword that you managed to use this with. Many thanks Derek |

The KJV with Strongs numbers on it was working on my Z, but after I updated to the current Sharp rom, QPSword will not even read the plain text--it just shows a blank screen. It reads other versions just fine. Any ideas as to a fix? |

Yes, I have a vague idea of why it doesn't work, but I'm not familiar enough with Linux and the inner workings of the Zaurus ROM to be much help. I believe that what you are experiencing is related to the changes in the Sharp ROM that effect which files you have permission to view. I think what has happened is that the new ROM boots into the "Zaurus" user account instead of "Root" like the original ROM, and this has caused the KJV files to be hidden from your account since you no longer own them. I wish I could be more help. The only thing I can suggest is to give the tkcROM a try. I'm using it and qpsword and the KJV works fine on it. |

The main thing you should know is that, as with the updated Sharp ROM, you will lose the ability to sync the addressbook, calendar, etc. with your computer. But, since I mainly use my Zaurus as a Bible Study tool I've been able to manage. In Faith, Mark |
