I know that sword does not yet support the Apocrypha or Pseudepigrapha natively. Is this coming soon (in the next few months), or would it be useful to provide them as a general book module until the support is added? Is there a public domain, plain text version somewhere that this could be done with? |

I have to add that Sword supports THML (Theological Markup Language) "natively" so this could be quite easy to do - with a little luck it would be just running the text through the module creator program. Okay, there we go. I had checked out the otpseudepig on CCEL before, but the ThML file is actually only links to png images of all the (700) pages. But I hadn't noticed the custom plain text file. It'll require a bit of scripting magic to turn that into a usable module though (something I might work on later in December if someone else doesn't have more time before then). (By "natively," I meant having things like verse selection which the books in the canon have.) |

I sent in book modules for the Apocrypha--from the KJV and WEB translations (both public domain)--to the address in the wiki over a month ago, but there doesn't seem to be any response or indication they were received. Do they normally take awhile to process, or is there something else I need to do, or somewhere else I can send them? |

The problem is not a module one. The problem is that the code numbers each verse in the KJV from Genesis to Revelation. It knows the "number" of the first verse in every chapter and how many verses in each chapter. It just does not know this for the Apocrypha. Or for any verse reference that is not in the KJV OT or NT. We have the underpinnings of the ability to represent books, chapters and verses that are outside of this, but it has not gone much further. What is needed is for someone with C++ skills to complete the effort. |

Thus I was trying to think outside the box by providing it as a general book module (i.e., alongside current books like Pilgrim's Progress, The Practice of the Presence of God, et cetera) as a temporary measure until this coding comes to pass. Or would such provision only delay motivation toward the final goal? |

We will actually be using a general book module. That is the part that is done. The apocrypha as a gen book is a workable stop gap mechanism. I'd suggest joining sword-devel and talk about it there. |
