Zefania->Sword Project, Sword Project->Zefania

Hi!

Just been browsing araound a bit about free bible software and - it is just great what has happend in the last time.
but I also found that there are two big systems for pretty much the same purpose. Besides the many many Sword-Project bible Versions there is another project on Sourceforge http://sourceforge.net/projects/zefania-sharp/ that seems to have a similar purpose. Now I think it would be a good idea to work together and gain some profit from each other. I would like to see a program that can transfer the bible-versions from Zefanja to Sword-Project and vice-versa.

The Sword-Project-Format looks at least to me much more unreadable than the Zefania XML ... So - I do not really feel ready to perform that task. Besides that I would be crazy enough to use php or something like that - because ... who does not have an Apache and php/perl running on his machine :-) ?
But probably there is someone else who is more able and also interested ...

regards
Daniel

Re: Zefania->Sword Project, Sword Project->Zefania

Hi,

the Zefania Project is known to the Sword developers. But the Zefania developers don't wanted to join the Sword project, which was long before the Zefania project. So there are now two reasons.

The Zefania Project seems to convertmany Sword modules into Zefania XML, so this explains the similair modules on their pages.
To my knowledge there is a XSLT convertor on the Zefania pages to convert OSIS into Zefania XML.

Re: Zefania->Sword Project, Sword Project->Zefania

Well ... I can somehow understand that they did not want to join .. . Probably they just had very different ideas about the basic file format.

But - that does not mean that the 2 projects need to have nothing to do with each others. Either side could gain some profit ...
I like "myBible's (a German program) Interface much more than "The Sword Project" but The Sword Project has Strong's numbers and also a RSV and much more modules. MyBible is also much faster in finding phrases.

That myBible ported modules might be but is that unwanted? I did not find the translationtool you mentioned.

Hi!

I'm very happy about this converter. I've converted some Zefania-XML-Modules to sword-modules.
Now I have a folder with my "Sword-Module". Inside there is a NT and OT plain text and a "nt.vss" and a "ot.vss" file.
But how can i import this files in Bibletime?
