confused   jEdit and OSIS how-to?
Hi all,
I'd love to hear from anybody who's had any experince with jEdit and OSIS editing.
I have no idea how to set things up to utilize jEdit's features.
I figure jEdit can help me in providing context popups, validation of XML, e.t.c. Am I right?
where do i download OSIS schema and where am I to store it for jEdit to be able to "see" it?

Could anyone walk me through it?

Thanks.

Re: jEdit and OSIS how-to?
A better place to get OSIS help would be the osis-user list (see http://whi.wts.edu/OSIS/user_area/index_html/view).

I don't know anything about jEdit specifically. OpenOffice, which you mentioned in your other post, would most definitely not be helpful to you. Some other XML editors you might (or might not) find beneficial are <oXygen/> (http://www.oxygenxml.com/ ) and topologi (http://www.topologi.com/ ). I believe both are shareware.

The most recent OSIS schema is www.bibletechnologies.net/osisCore.2.0.1.xsd.

Re: jEdit and OSIS how-to?
Hi, I checked the osis-user list archive. I wouldn't bother to even ask a question like mine. Guys are busy doing something more general.

What I need is a general idea of using either a DTD or a schema file (what is the difference anyway) in any program capable of utilizing such definition files.

jEdit has a "catalog" where schemas are looked up. Say I put the osisCore.xsd there. What next?
I just don't know. Could anybody help, please?

Thanks.
