We have an abundance of applications, available to support you in your Bible studies on many different platforms. Several of these applications are cross platform. All applications in this section use the same module library and most store their library in the same place on your computer. All are based on The SWORD Project You can therefore try several and see which one you end up liking best:

Xiphos (formerly known as GnomeSword), runs on Linux, Windows (Windows 2000 upwards),
Solaris and all BSDs. Xiphos is a mature programme with all relevant features. Unique
for Xiphos is its fully integrated and versatile ability to create your own commentaries,
journals, and other content. Xiphos is translated into (currently) 11 languages,
including Hebrew, Farsi, and German.

BibleTime for Qt/KDE
BibleTime is a Bible study application with a long history on Linux/Unix. Now built with the Qt framework, it runs on
Linux/Unix, Windows, and OS X. Its window layout is very versatile, and BibleTime makes working with even large numbers of text modules easy.

BibleDesktop is a powerful Bible study application based on Java
technology with a unique layout. BibeDesktop lets you study several
translations and commentaries in parallel and without artificial
chapter/passage length limitations. The search facility is fast and
powerful. Translated into English, German, Chinese and Farsi.

FireBible - A Bible study add-on for Firefox / FireBible for Firefox
|FireBible is a Firefox add-on for Bible study on Windows and Linux. The FireBible toolbar allows you to easily load multiple Bibles for side by side comparison, and Strong's numbers, word morphology, crossreferences/footnotes and commentaries are supported. Its Ubiquity integration can be used for fast verse lookup, across multiple Bibles. FireBible also supports general book, dictionary, map and daily devotional modules. It adds the bible:// and sword:// protocols to Firefox so your Bible study experience is as easy as surfing the net; content is loaded in tabs alongside regular browser tabs but it works even when offline.|

The SWORD Project for Windows
The SWORD Project for Windows is a full featured Bible study package
for the layman and exegete alike. For many years it was our flagship
application, offering many features even expensive programs did not have,
under a simple and intuitive user interface.
